XMSP Quick Start
XMSP combines motion sequencing, motion control, motor drive, and matching mechanics in one software-and-hardware project configuration.
How an XMSP plan is assembled
XMSP = XMatrix software + MSP hardware. XMatrix sequences and executes motion, while MSP connects to and drives the motors.
| Name | What it is | What you decide |
|---|---|---|
| XMSP | The complete software and hardware system you receive | Combine the software function and the hardware configuration into one project |
| XMatrix | The software system of XMSP | Choose Online, Offline, Command, DMX512, API-SDK, or OEM |
| MSP | The hardware system of XMSP | Choose the controller, motor, cables, brake, gearbox, and matching parts |
An XMSP plan combines an XMatrix software function with an MSP hardware configuration. The configurator produces the complete plan code from the selected software, controller, motor, and parts.
Choose the MSP hardware path
Start from how the project will connect the motor: an integrated stepper drive, an integrated servo drive, or MSP1001 in front of a drive you already have.
The existing motor, supply, and drive conditions determine the matching MSP hardware path.
| Your situation | Start here | Next |
|---|---|---|
| Drive a two-phase stepper directly | MSP Integrated Stepper Drive | Select by frame size 20–86 |
| Drive an AC servo motor directly | MSP Integrated Servo Drive | Select by 100 W–1500 W |
| A drive is already installed, or the rating is outside the standard range | MSP1001 Single-Axis Motion Controller | Confirm the direction / pulse interface |
Choose the XMatrix software function
XMatrix is the software system of XMSP. Choose the function the project needs. Every function shares the same moves, axis parameters, and commissioning logic.
| Software function you need | XMatrix function | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| No code, run from a PC while connected | XMatrix Online | Run, adjust, and trigger moves on site |
| No code, then run with the PC removed | XMatrix Offline | The controller runs a prepared move on its own |
| Your own software sends short commands | XMatrix Command Interface | A host application, industrial software, or a script |
| Lighting, stage, or exhibition systems | XMatrix DMX512 Interface | Connect a lighting console or stage software |
| Call motion from inside your own program | XMatrix API-SDK | Wrap a process, or ship your own software product |
| The standard modes do not cover the project | XMatrix OEM | A custom function, screen, or communication method |
The conditions are not fully settled?
A motor nameplate, a drive model, an axis count, or the required move is enough to continue.
Ratings are already known: show the standard models
This section is for engineers who already know the frame size, power, or torque. It does not change the first-pass choice above.
