Applications based on published capability

Applications and engineering start

This page does not use customer names or project data that have not been cleared for publication. It describes problems the published XMSP capability can address, and it points to material you can check directly.

Applications

Judge fit from the control method

Final model, axis count, and performance limits have to be checked against the real duty.

General machine automation

Your conditions: You need sequenced moves, positioning, homing, limits, or a push-button or I/O trigger, and you do not want to start from a PLC ladder and motor-control code.

XMSP path: XMatrix Online or Offline, with an MSP integrated stepper drive or an MSP integrated servo drive.

See no-code control · Ask with the motor nameplate

Stage and kinetic display

Your conditions: A lighting console, media software, or a show-control system needs to command motor position and speed.

XMSP path: XMatrix DMX512 Interface. Choose stepper, servo, or MSP1001 in front of a third-party drive, according to the motor.

See the DMX512 interface · Ask with channel count and axis count

Host software and intelligent equipment

Your conditions: You already have a program, and it needs to call motion and read device status.

XMSP path: Use the XMatrix Command Interface or the API-SDK, and connect the MSP hardware to the software you already have.

See the command interface · See the API-SDK · Ask with the language and axis count

An existing third-party drive, or a non-standard motor

Your conditions: A stepper or servo drive is already on site, or the motor is outside the standard direct-drive range.

XMSP path: MSP1001 connects a third-party drive through a 5 V direction / pulse interface, and the axis stays inside the XMatrix software system.

See MSP1001 · Ask with the drive model

XMSP is the XMatrix software system plus three MSP hardware paths
Choose the hardware path first
From the motor on site and any drive already installed, choose direct-drive stepper, direct-drive servo, or MSP1001.
Stepper, servo, and MSP1001 mixed in one multi-axis project
From one axis to a mixed multi-axis network
Stepper, servo, and third-party drives can be mixed by axis, and they share the XMatrix software system.
XMatrix software functions in XMSP: Online, Offline, Command, DMX512, API-SDK, and OEM
Then choose the XMatrix software function
Choose Online, Offline, Command Interface, DMX512 Interface, API-SDK, or OEM for the project.
